Since 1995, Dr Cody Fitzgerald’s practice in Mackay has been meeting the diverse surgical needs of local patients. Dr Cody’s remit of knowledge extends to almost all aspects of general surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy . He has a particular interest in gastroscopy, colonoscopy , head and neck surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia treatments, as well as skin cancer surgery (including plastic reconstructions).

Dr Cody is fully qualified to conduct colonoscopies–having accreditation with the GE Society of Australia. He has also recently completed the colonoscopy re-certification program with very high adenoma and SSA detection rates. His practice is the only one in Mackay offering 100% bulk billed skin cancer specialist surgery. Additionally, no-gap surgical and endoscopy services are available to all of Dr Cody’s patients at Mater Private Hospital in Mackay.
